Wound assessment and diagnosis made easy

This session emphasises the importance of effective assessment and diagnosis in the treatment of wounds and presents details and clarification on the individual markers that might become the subject of diagnostic tests of the future. It builds on the WUWHS consensus document (2008), as an educational initiative and provides principles of best practice on the emerging use of diagnostic technologies in the management of wounds. This is used to generate debate within the field of wound healing and serve as a platform to develop dedicated test kits that may influence the future management of hard-to-heal wounds.
